“Chairs of Creation”: Michelangelo Pistoletto in Dialogue with Paolo D’Angelo at Roma Tre University
On Wednesday, May 7 at 2:30 PM, in Room 6 of the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Performing Arts in Rome, a new Lectio Magistralis by Michelangelo Pistoletto will take place. The event, curated and moderated by Francesco Monico, will feature the master in conversation with the full professor of aesthetics.
The fifth chapter of Chairs of Creation is on its way. This format — conceived behind the scenes by Accademia Unidee — brings Pistoletto into dialogue with high-profile academics from both the humanities and the sciences, capable of speculating on the theory and history of ideas. Beyond that, the series of encounters delves into the strategic role of art as a method of thought.
Before exploring the details of this new session, let’s revisit the previous ones, all moderated by Francesco Monico (Professor of Philosophy of Art at Accademia Unidee): on November 17, Book City hosted a dialogue between Michelangelo Pistoletto and Elio Franzini (Professor of Aesthetics at the University of Milan) in the conference room of the Department of Culture at Piazza del Duomo 14 in Milan; on November 27 in Novara, at the ‘G. Cattaneo’ Auditorium of the Perrone Campus, Pistoletto engaged in a conversation with Menico Rizzi, Rector of the University of Eastern Piedmont; on December 5, 2024, at the Politecnico di Milano – School of Design, the master conversed with Professor Derrick de Kerckhove, renowned scholar and theorist of digital culture; and on March 11 at Palazzo Strozzi in Florence, the founder of Cittadellarte met with Lorenzo Bartalesi, Professor of Aesthetics at the Scuola Normale Superiore.
The fifth installment of the project will take place next Wednesday at 2:30 PM in Room 6 of the Department of Philosophy, Communication and Performing Arts at Roma Tre University, located at Via Ostiense 139. As always, the encounter will be curated by Monico and will feature Michelangelo Pistoletto in conversation with Paolo D’Angelo, Full Professor of Aesthetics at Roma Tre. The event will also include institutional greetings from Massimiliano Fiorucci (Rector), Anna Lisa Tota (Deputy Vice-Rector), and Luca Aversano (Director of the Department).
