"Arte al Centro", the 27th edition on the horizon with exhibitions and unpublished works, new spaces and conferences

On Saturday 28 June, the traditional series of exhibitions, meetings and conferences organised by Cittadellarte and its international network returns to Biella. This year, among the many proposals, the presentation of a new exhibition space is scheduled: the Palazzo del Buongoverno, which, on three floors, will host new exhibitions by Cittadellarte and Michelangelo Pistoletto, in addition to the latest location of Biella Città Arcipelago.

Art and Society

In what ways can art be at the center of processes of social change based on responsibility? To explore the implications of this question and the possible answers, Cittadellarte has been organizing Arte al Centro since 1998, a series of exhibitions, performances and meetings that tell the story of artistic practices of transformation in a sense of responsibility towards the social contexts in which they develop. For the 27th edition of the initiative, whose inauguration is scheduled for Saturday 28 June, a new space of Fondazione Pistoletto will officially open: the Palazzo del Buongoverno, located in Costa di Riva 11 in Biella. The three floors of the complex will host new exhibitions by Cittadellarte and Michelangelo Pistoletto (all the details will be announced soon), in addition to the new headquarters of Biella Città Arcipelago. During the day, from 10:30 to 23:00, it will be possible to discover the new spaces and the new exhibitions together with Pistoletto's permanent collection for free and take part in the many activities that articulate the program of the series (to book click here). While waiting for the in-depth analysis of the event that will "populate" our newspaper day after day, let's discover the activities.

The exhibitions
The exhibitions will be open from 10:30 to 23:00. What exhibitions and new features can we discover? The Permanent Collection of Michelangelo Pistoletto - with a free guided tour every hour - will host a new installation by the master, namely Mirror of Eternity; the new Arcipelago space on the third floor of the Palazzo del Buongoverno; two new exhibitions by Cittadellarte with works by Michelangelo Pistoletto - on the ground floor Unity of Sports for Preventive Peace and on the first floor of the Palazzo U.R.-R.A. Unity of Religions - Responsability of Art, for a Preventive Peace - and the public work Statodellarte outside the Palazzo; Ecosystems as Living Communities by Despina Charitonidi and Davide Tagliabue (aka Metrocubo), created by UNIDEE Residency Programs in collaboration with UniCredit, at the Museo del Presente; in the spaces of Accademia Unidee there will be an open studio of the students of the three-year course in Public Art and Sustainable Fashion. As usual, the exhibitions Labirinto - Pace Preventiva by Michelangelo Pistoletto and the Permanent Headquarters of Terzo Paradiso in Via Cernaia will also be open to visitors, as well as Ways of Becoming: Archivio UNIDEE Residency Programs at the Gallery.

The conferences
During the day, various meetings will be held, some public and others by invitation: from 10:30 to 13:00 the conference Lo Statodellarte allo Spazio Arcipelago, at the Palazzo del Buongoverno, is scheduled; in the afternoon, by invitation, two conferences on Visible and Impresadellarte.

The opening

The opening will take place at 18:00 with the official inauguration of both the Palazzo del Buongoverno and the new spaces and exhibitions of Cittadellarte and Michelangelo Pistoletto, located in Costa di Riva 11 in Biella. At 7:30 pm the presentation of the exhibition and the assignment of the Minimum Prize are scheduled at the Museo del Presente, in via Serralunga 27. From 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm there will be space for the Light Dinner - curated by Let Eat Bi, in collaboration with the thematic island "Food Agriculture and Hospitality" of Biella Città Arcipelago - accompanied by musical performances curated by Hydro in the courtyard of Cittadellarte.
