In what ways can art place itself at the center of processes of social change based on responsibility?
To explore the implications of this question and the possible answers, since 1998 Cittadellarte has organized Arte al Centro, a series of exhibitions, performances and meetings that describe artistic practices of transformation in a sense of responsibility towards the social contexts in which they develop.


For the 27th edition of Arte al Centro, whose inauguration is scheduled for Saturday 28 June, a new space of the Pistoletto Foundation will officially open: the Palazzo del Buongoverno. The three floors of the complex will host new exhibitions by Cittadellarte and Michelangelo Pistoletto, as well as the new headquarters of Biella Città Arcipelago.


During the day, from 10.30 to 23.00, it will be possible to discover the new spaces and new exhibitions together with the permanent collection for free and take part in the many activities that articulate the program of the exhibition. Book your guided tour here


THE EXHIBITIONS

The following exhibitions will be open from 10.30am to 11pm:

In the Palazzo del Buongoverno (Costa di Riva 11):
• The new Arcipelago space on the third floor of the Palazzo del Buongoverno (exhibition design by Guardini Ciuffreda Studio);
• Two new exhibitions curated by Cittadellarte with works by Michelangelo Pistoletto: U.R.-R.A. Unity of Religions - Responsibility of Art, for a Preventive Peace on the first floor, Unity of Sports for Preventive Peace on the ground floor and the public work Statodellarte outside the Palace.

In the spaces of Cittadellarte:
• The permanent collection of Michelangelo Pistoletto with the new installation Mirror of Eternity
• Ecosystems as Living Communities by Despina Charitonidi and Davide Tagliabue (aka Metrocubo), created by UNIDEE Residency Programs in collaboration with UniCredit;
• Not too hard to listen, exhibition of the students of the three-year Public Art course of Accademia Unidee;
• Open atelier of the students of the three-year Sustainable Fashion course of Accademia Unidee with: the tailoring laboratory for the show “Tertium Datur. Da Leonardo Da Vinci a Michelangelo Pistoletto”, the exhibition Il gioiello tessile, the collection Sostenibilità del taylor made, the Abiti di scena per piccoli attori.
• As usual, the exhibitions Labirinto - Pace Preventiva by Michelangelo Pistoletto and the permanent headquarters of Terzo Paradiso, in via Cernaia, will also be open to visitors, as well as Ways of Becoming: UNIDEE Residency Programs Archive at the Galleria.
